PROJECT-O is our brand coined from the term “Project Oruaka.” ‘Oruaka’ is an Igbo word for handwork or craftmanship. It is an attempt to restore the fast disappearing tradition of Apprenticeship. This programme is mainly targeted at young people who have concluded their secondary education and are waiting to further into the university. During this period, they are sent on apprenticeship in different businesses where they are to learn a skill or a trade. This time around, each mentee spends at least 3 months to one year as full time apprentice. At the end of this period, they are also supported with seed funds or resources to setup their own business.
